A karst plateau cut by narrow gorges, including the 11.7-kilometer Prielom Hornádu canyon and the ladder-and-chain route through Suchá Belá. Beech, spruce, and fir cover 90 percent of the park, turning through October above waterfalls that visitors climb past on iron rungs bolted to the rock.
