A lake dammed by an ancient landslide in the volcanic Vihorlat Mountains, sitting at 618 meters and ringed by beech forest that runs almost unbroken toward the nearby Kyjovský prales reserve, part of the UNESCO-listed primeval beech forests of the Carpathians.
