Virginia City
Historic townColor nearby peaks October 12
Virginia City grew up almost overnight on the Comstock Lode silver strike of 1859 and still keeps its wooden boardwalks, saloons, and mine shafts open above the old diggings. Fall thins out the summer motorcycle traffic on C Street, so there is more room to duck into the Fourth Ward School museum or ride the short line down to Gold Hill.
