Luxembourg's largest body of water, a 380-hectare reservoir dammed in 1961 for drinking water and power, ringed by Ardennes forest at the heart of the Upper Sûre Natural Park. The medieval village of Esch-sur-Sûre sits on a rock loop of the river just below the dam.
