Hirkan National Park

A relict Hyrcanian forest reserve between the Lankaran lowlands and the Talysh Mountains, roughly 40,000 hectares protecting 435 tree and shrub species, about 150 of them found nowhere else. Persian ironwood, whose leaves turn crimson, orange and gold on the same branch, is the reserve's signature autumn tree, alongside chestnut-leaved oak and hornbeam.
