Gribskov

Forest · Denmark

North Zealand's largest beech forest at 5,600 hectares, bordering Lake Esrum and part of the UNESCO-listed Par force hunting landscape. Spruce plantations planted in the 1800s are being cleared to restore old beechwood, and the trails out of Nødebo village fill with copper leaf-litter through October.
